May 31, (THEWILL) – Tottenham Hotspur have announced the transfer of Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan to north London, following the expiration of his contract with the Italian side for a two-year contract.
The Croatian began his career in the junior academies of Hajduk Split and Sochaux, before a brief loan spell with KSV Roeselare in Belgium. In 2009, he joined Club Brugge, where he became the league’s top scorer in only his second season and was awarded Belgium’s Footballer of the Year.
After successful trophy-winning seasons at Borussia Dortmund, Inter and Bayern, he returned to Inter to play under Antonio Conte and demonstrated his versatility by playing as a wing-back as well as a forward as the Nerazzurri broke Juventus serial title-winning run in the Serie A.
In the 2021/2022 season, he scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in all competitions en route to winning the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana. In April, he also won Serie A’s Goal of the Month award, and helped Inter finish second on the log.
The transfer is a solid addition to the Spurs side as Conte begins to shape the team the way he wants them to play ahead of their English Premier League and UEFA Champions League aspirations
