April 5, (THEWILL)- Jim Osayande Obazee, the Special Investigator contracted by President Bola Tinubu to probe the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other related entities, has concluded his investigations.
THEWILL recalls that President Tinubu had on July 28, appointed Obazee, a former Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC), to probe the CBN under former apex bank chief, Godwin Emefiele.
A statement issued on Friday, by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Tinubu, informed that Obazee, upon conclusion of his assignment, submitted a final comprehensive report, as his task terminated on March 31, 2024.
President Tinubu expressed his appreciation and commended Obazee for the dedication and professionalism he exercised in handling the complexities of ‘his critical’ national assignment.
“Subsequent to the conclusion of the assignment and the submission of a final comprehensive report, and with the winding up of all apparatuses used during the scope of the task which terminated on March 31, 2024, the investigation is formally closed, with all appropriate law enforcement and regulatory agencies already conducting follow-up action.
“The President thanks Mr Obazee for answering the call of duty while wishing him success in his future endeavours”, the statement added.
