October 08, (THEWILL) – The Spanish government is planning to offer citizens who turn 18 next year €400 to spend on cultural activities.
The goal is to help the country’s culture sector recover from the pandemic.
Teenagers would be able to spend their €400 on items such as cinema and theatre tickets, books and concerts.

The government calculates half a million people will be eligible for the voucher, costing the state around £160 million.
France and Italy have taken similar steps to support their culture sectors.
The decision was one of the politically controversial measures in Spain’s 2022 national budget, which will be voted on next week.
Another was a proposal to give 18 to 34-year-olds earning less than €1,977 (£1,578) a month a €250 (£212) monthly bonus for rent payments.
The aim is to enable more young people to move out of their parents’ homes.
