September 20, (THEWILL) – Vice President Kassim Shettima in the company of Governor Hyacinth Alia and others, earlier on Friday, departed from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, for New York, to attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly.

This is part of the delegation selected by President Bola Tinubu to attend the assembly, which is expected to commence on Saturday, September 21, 2024, to Sunday, September 28, 2024.

“This assembly is an opportunity for world leaders to come together to discuss progress on interconnected global challenges.”

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, stated that while in the United States, Governor Alia will attend various important sideline events and hold bilateral meetings that will immensely benefit Benue State.

“These high-level sessions will focus on subnational government strategies for accelerating sustainable development through technology and partnerships”, the statement added.
