September 16, (THEWILL) – Former Senate President, David Mark, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Brig. Gen. B.B. Tete, a former Defence attaché to the Nigerian Embassy in China.
This is contained in a condolence message issued to newsmen by his Media Adviser, Media, Paul Mumeh, on Monday.
In the message, Sen. Mark described Gen. Tete as a detribalised, dependable and faithful ally, who championed peace and unity of Nigeria.
“Gen. Tete was an exceptional individual, a brilliant soldier, an accomplished diplomat, teacher and fine gentleman. His passion for nationhood was evident in every assignment he handled”, he said.
Gen.Tete served as Sen. Mark’s Adviser on Special Duties during his tenure as Senate President.
The late General, a member of the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Course 20, will be buried in his hometown of Bakin Kogi, Kafanchan, Kaduna State, on Wednesday.
Sen. Mark praised Gen.Tete’s kind and gentle nature, intellectual prowess and commitment to nationhood, saying his absence would be deeply felt in Kaduna State and the Nigerian Armed Forces.
“He left an indelible mark on the minds and hearts of many”, the former Senate President said.
