August 01, (THEWILL) – Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, on Thursday, fired tear gas to disperse protesters, who gathered at Eagle Square in Abuja to protest against hunger and economic hardship in the country.

THEWILL recalls that Justice Sylvanus Oriji of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), had on Wednesday, issued an ex-parte order, restricting the #EndBadGovernance protesters to the National Stadium, otherwise known as the MKO Abiola National Stadium.

On Thursday, the protest, organised by the Take It Back Movement, had gathered around Eagle Square and the Federal Secretariat.

Their assembly was, however, met with a heavy security presence, including police and military personnel as they were ordered to leave the venue for the National Stadium.
