Security Operatives Drill Former SGF, Invade Residence Of Ex NIA DG

SAN FRANCISCO, March 06, (THEWILL) – It has been revealed that operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), last week, drilled a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babagana Kingibe.

According to reports, Kingibe was quizzed on Wednesday and Thursday last week by a special team of the anti-graft body at the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA).

THEWILL recalls that Kingibe headed a presidential panel that reviewed the operations of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) in the wake of scandals rocking the intelligence agency.

THEWILL also recalls that Dauda Muhammed, who acted as the DG of the NIA during the time of the assignment had alleged that Kingibe used his position to extort money from the agency which prompted the House committee to order the EFCC to investigate the allegations.

In the same vein, reports indicate that armed security operatives also invaded the official residence of Dauda Muhammed to evict the former NIA boss so that the new DG, Dr. Abubakar Rufai, could move in.

THEWILL recalls that the agency has been embroiled in a leadership crisis after Rufai’s appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari.
