This victory marks the Texan’s fifth career win on the PGA Tour, propelling him to a successful run in 2022, where he went on to win four tournaments in six starts, including his first major championship at the Masters. Scheffler’s dominance on the course led to him being named the 2022 PGA Tour Player of the Year, earning 89 percent of the votes cast by the PGA Tour’s membership, besting Rory McIlroy and Cameron Smith.
