July 09, (THEWILL) – The Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to the Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. John Sambo, Commissioner for Women, Children Affairs, and Social Development, Hon. Faith Opuene, and Commissioner for Special Projects, Bayelsa State, Hon. Sinkumo Ekisah among others have been nominated for the 5th edition Of the prestigious Bayelsa Media Network Awards (BMNA).
The Project Manager, Mr. Blessing Matthew Ozegbe, who disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen in Yenagoa, said it would be rolling out the red carpet in honour of distinguished Bayelsans and Nigerians, who in its estimation, are deserving of recognition in the form of awards of excellence for the contributions they have made in their respective fields of endeavour, the development of their immediate locality, State and Nigeria.
Ozegbe described this year’s awardees as dynamic personalities, who have discharged their responsibilities diligently with utmost professionalism and enthusiasm.
Among those to be honoured are Hon. Lucky Asanakpo, Chairman, Bayelsa State Volunteers; Dr. Akpoebi Adesi, Registrar, University of Africa (UAT); Hon. Gifted Natus, Founder/C.E.O, Gifted Natus Foundation, and Mr. Ihekire Venatius Chinyeye, Coordinator, Bayelsa State NAFDAC.
Others are HRM King Alfred Diete-Spiff, Amanyanabo of Twon-Brass; HRH King A.J Turner, Obenema of Opume Kingdom; HRH Franklin Akintola, Mrs. Simeone Portia Fun-ere, Mr. Alfred Egbegi, Chief Ebikapuador Ekoi Osuobeni, Mabel Magnimo, Yerin Jerry, Princess Okoli, Sandra Ossai, Gracious Fenana and Excellent Glory International Academy, among others.
Ozegbe further noted that the award ceremony will take place on Tuesday, December 25, 2023, at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat, Ernest Ikoli Press Centre, Azikoro Road, Ekeki, Yenagoa, by 1pm prompt.
