Ronaldo, who recently joined Al Nassr at the end of December, had only managed one goal in his first three competitive appearances. But against Al-Wehda, the 38-year-old Portugal captain proved his worth, scoring in the 21st, 40th, 53rd and 61st minutes.
Ronaldo’s first goal was a powerful left-footed finish, followed by a poacher’s goal as he raced in-behind to latch onto a through-ball. The veteran striker also converted a penalty for his third goal, and a fourth was added just after the hour mark to reach 503 career league goals. These goals set Al-Nassr on a path to a much-needed victory as they push for another league title.
The superstar’s four goals against Al-Wehda mean he has scored five goals in his first three Saudi Pro League appearances. With 503 career league goals, Ronaldo is only behind legends Pele (604), Romario (544), Josef Bican (518) and Ferenc Puskas (514) on the all-time list of league goalscorers.
84 of these goals came during his first stint at Manchester United in the Premier League, while just three came in the Primeira Liga for Sporting Lisbon, where he first burst onto the scene as a teenager.
