Ronaldo Agrees To Al Nassr Terms, Set To Become Highest Paid Footballer

December 30, (THEWILL) – Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly agreed to a contract with Saudi Arabian team, Al Nassr, which is set to run until 2025.

While club officials are hopeful that Ronaldo will continue with the team beyond that date and potentially take on an ambassadorial role if he retires from playing, the deal is understood to be worth approximately £250m, making Ronaldo the highest-paid player in the world.

Ronaldo’s representatives had been searching for a new club, following his departure from Manchester United, and while there was reportedly some interest from European teams, none of the proposals met Ronaldo’s demands. Al Nassr’s bid to sign Ronaldo has been supported by the Saudi Arabian government, which is hoping to boost its global standing as part of its plan to host the 2030 World Cup.

In addition to Ronaldo, Saudi officials are also interested in attracting Lionel Messi to the Middle East in the future, with Al Hilal identified as a potential destination for the Argentine player.

The plan for Ronaldo’s move to Al Nassr is for him to undergo a medical within the coming week before officially signing the contract. This is a major acquisition for Al Nassr, and the team will no doubt be hoping to capitalize on Ronaldo’s star power and success on the field to further establish itself as a top team in the region.
