SAN FRANCISCO, October 09, (THEWILL) – A serial killer, Gracious David-West has been sentenced to death by hanging for the murder of nine young women at different hotels in the Rivers state.
The convict had during his arrest confessed to have killed between July and September, 2019, eight young women; one each in Lagos, Owerri, Imo States, and five in Rivers State. His attempt to kill his 9th victim, Benita Etim triggered his arrest.
The trial judge, Justice Adolphus Enebeli while delivering judgement on Friday, said David-West should be hanged in the neck until he was confirmed dead.
The second defendant, Nimi ThankGod, a manager in one of the hotels where one of the young women was killed, was however discharged and acquitted.
On his part the lawyer to David-West, Vincent Chukwu vowed to appeal the judgment of the High Court.
