Rep Ogah Awards Scholarship To Abakaliki Inmates, Others As He Celebrates 48th Birthday

June 27, (THEWILL) – The federal lawmaker representing Ikwo/Ezza South Constituency and House Committee Chairman on Reformatory Institutions, Hon. Chinedu Ogah, has awarded scholarships to inmates of Abakaliki Correctional Centre to take the West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and National Examination Council (NECO).

The federal lawmaker also distributed relief materials to Orphanages, Saint Vincent De Paul Destitute Home, Artisans, and drugs to Abakaliki Correctional Centre Ebonyi state inmates.

Ogah, accompanied by his wife, and mammoth supporters, while addressing the people, explained that the event is held annually, through his wife’s motivation.

He thanked the people for their efforts and support of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru’s led administration.

While visiting the Abakaliki Correctional Centres, the lawmaker donated relief items to 1,269 inmates. He urged the inmates to be courageous, and not to lose hope as they will regain freedom soon.

He charged them to change for the better and believe that they can still become better individuals, who will be useful to themselves, family and society.

Responding, the Abakaliki Correctional Controller, Ben Oyoko, who appreciated Hon. Ogah for his benevolence, prayed for God’s blessings upon him and his family.
