October 14, (THEWILL) – Rofiat Imuran and Oluwatosin Demehin, two promising Nigerian footballers, have been signed by French side Stade de Reims.

Imuran and Demehin were significant contributors to the Falconets team that advanced to the Under-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup quarter-finals in August in Costa Rica.

The impressive pair were also handed invitations to join the senior women’s national football team, the Super Falcons, as a result of their outstanding performances at the Mundial. They both made their Falcons’ debuts last month during the international friendlies against the USA.

Reims quickly approached the flying defenders to persuade them to move to France as soon as possible after realising their budding talents.

Demehin, who is 20 years old, committed to the Red and Whites until 2024 by signing a two-year contract. Imuran, a left back who is 18 years old, scored one goal in four games for Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA World Cup in Costa Rica. She is hoping to make the most of her speed and defensive prowess in the French first division.
