Real Madrid Refute Mbappe Transfer Talks

November 04, (THEWILL) – Real Madrid have firmly denied reports that they are in transfer negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain striker, Kylian Mbappe. The La Liga giants released a statement rubbishing speculation in the media about alleged talks with the French World Cup winner, whose PSG contract expires next summer.

“Given the information recently issued and published by different media outlets, in which there is speculation about alleged negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappe and our club, Real Madrid C.F. wants to state that this information is flatly false and that no such negotiations have taken place with a player who belongs to PSG,” the statement read.

Mbappe was the subject of a world record £258 million bid from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal this summer, which the 24-year-old rejected despite PSG accepting the offer. The Bernabeu has long been touted as the Frenchman’s most likely destination when he leaves Parc des Princes at the end of this season.

Real’s emphatic denial follows intense media speculation linking them with Mbappe in recent weeks. The club have moved swiftly to rubbish the rumours and make clear they have not held any talks whatsoever with the striker.

With Mbappe’s future set to be resolved in 2023, Real appear keen to distance themselves from the rising transfer speculation. Yet, their statement will do little to halt speculation, with a summer move to the Spanish capital still the most probable outcome.
