April 24, (THEWILL) – Giacomo Raspadori’s last-minute goal secured Napoli’s 1-0 victory against Juventus, putting the I Partenopei just one win away from their first Scudetto since 1990.
With the win, Napoli now sit 17 points clear atop the Serie A table, leaving them only needing a win and an favour from Inter Milan in their tie against second-placed Lazio to secure the title.
In a thrilling match at the Allianz Stadium, Napoli dominated possession in the first half, while Juventus were happy to attempt to catch the visitors on the break. Napoli finally broke the deadlock in the added time, as Giacomo Raspadori volleyed home with precision into the bottom left corner of the net, securing Napoli’s win and putting them on the brink of their first Scudetto in 33 years.
Napoli’s next match will be against Salernitana, and a win in that match would see them secure the title. Meanwhile, Inter will be Juve’s next opponent when they clash in the Coppa Italia semi-final next Saturday.
