The capital club had drawn 3-3 at home to Le Havre on Saturday, meaning Monaco needed a victory to delay PSG’s title celebrations. However, Lyon’s 3-2 win over Monaco confirmed PSG as champions once again.
“Winning Ligue 1 for the twelfth time is even more special for everyone at Paris Saint-Germain,” club President Nasser Al-Khelaifi told the official website. Luis Enrique’s side have dominated the French top-flight, amassing 20 wins, 10 draws and just one defeat so far. Their goal difference of +29 over Monaco highlighted their supremacy.
Despite Saturday’s draw halting celebrations, manager Enrique remained unfazed: “We’re champions. I don’t care if there’s a party or not.
