Prosperity Cup: Movers, Anyama, Oruma, Police Machine, Bayelsa United Feeders Record Wins

June 12, (THEWILL) – Movers FC of Otuasega and Anyama FC of Ogbia, on Tuesday, continued their dominant display in the ongoing Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament, aka Prosperity Cup, with impressive victories at their designated centres.

Movers FC, at the Kolo Centre, humbled Abureni FC 2-0 after a goalless first half. Samuel Otavie put the former Ogbia champions ahead in the 64th minute to send the jubilant Otuasega fans into celebration before Elton Mina added salt to the injuries of Abureni FC in the 71st minute with a beautiful finish.

At the Otuokpoti centre, Azibapu Vincent’s lone goal in the 39th minute was all the 2022 semi/finalists Anyama FC needed to advance to the next phase of the spectacle, as they beat Hummels Stars FC 1-0 in an encounter that witnessed a massive turnout of spectators.

Oruma FC, at the Otuasega centre, whipped Jerry FC 4-1, with a brace from Lemanya Gospel in the 2nd and 83rd minutes before Musa Onita and Peter Inetimi added the 3rd and 4th goals in the 10th and 82nd minutes respectively. However, Godgift Pumpum’s 62nd-minute consolation goal ensured that Jerry FC didn’t return home empty-handed.

Police Machine FC, in the other fixture at the Otuasega centre, pipped Otuokpoti FC 1-0, with Samuel Kenere scoring the only goal in the 9th minute of the match.

Ten men Otuoke FC overpowered stubborn New Mercy City Boys to secure a slim victory at the Otuokpoti centre. Apiri Joshua’s 63rd-minute goal defined the tie for Otuoke FC despite the numerical disadvantage as their goalkeeper, Iwani Saveme, was shown a straight red for handling the ball outside the eighteen-yard box in the 74th minute.

Onuebum FC, at the Kolo centre, beat Federal University Otuoke FC 1-0 as Bello Bello’s 34th-minute goal ensured that the Federal University, Otuoke FC returned to their classes empty-handed.

Elsewhere at the CSS Ebedebiri Centre in Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa United Feeders FC took Kumbowei FC to the cleaners with a 2-0 victory. Goals from Nathaniel Ojibare as well as an own goal from their opponent sealed Bayelsa United Feeders FC’s progress.

Action continues on Thursday, at the Ogbia Centre in the ongoing Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament christened the Prosperity Cup.
