April 9, (THEWILL)- The philanthropic gesture and kindness of Mr Joseph Obinin, who hails from Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa state has not only been extolled and commended, but other well-meaning residents have been urged to emulate his contribution towards educational advancement in the state as government alone cannot tackle the myriads of problems confronting education.
The chairman of the Bayelsa State Post Primary School Board, High Chief Millionaire Asangba, stated this during the presentation of donated stationery to the board by Mr Joseph Obinin in his office in Yenagoa.
According to him, while he asked for more such donations from spirited individuals, the efforts of the donor deserved commendation, as such the gesture will go a long way to appreciate the individual contribution, as the government alone cannot shoulder the enormous responsibilities of providing qualitative education for the state.
“As a board, we remain appreciative and thanked the donor, while calling on others to emulate him”
Speaking earlier, the donor, Mr Joseph Obinin, the immediate past Special Assistant to the governor, said by any standard he is not a wealthy man, but he was inspired and motivated to make his mark by contributing towards the sustainability of education in the state.
He reiterated that this was not his first donation, as without solicitation he had printed and donated an almanac to the board.
Our Correspondent reported that among the items received by the PPSB from the donor were, 245 records of service copies, 30 attendance registers and 245 records and diaries.
