Police Say Four Killed In Fresh Maiduguri Bombing

SAN FRANCISCO, June 03, (THEWILL) –The Borno State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aderemi Opadokun has said four persons were killed in a bomb attack in Maiduguri on Wednesday evening.

“There was IED explosion at a Mechanic workshop by the NNPC Mega filing station along Baga road, Maiduguri when a suicide bomber detonated an IED strapped to his body.

“Four persons including one Dan Bulama, owner of the workshop died in the explosion while eight others sustained injuries,” the CP said in an SMS to THEWILL correspondent in Northern Nigeria.

Earlier reports had quoted witnesses saying six people lost their lives in the attack believed to have been orchestrated by the Boko Haram.

Maiduguri has been under renewed attacks by the Boko Haram. Wednesday’s attack is the fourth in the capital city of Borno state in the last one week.

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the relocation of the Command and Control center of the Nigerian military to Maiduguri and would remain there until the terrorists are defeated.
