July 30, (THEWILL) – Investigation has commenced by Enugu State Police to locate missing actors, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel.
Daniel Ndukwe, Enugu police spokesman, confirmed this to NAN on Saturday.
On Friday, the two thespians were reported missing, with their family members confirming that they didn’t return from a film location at Ozalla Town in Enugu state.
The assumption was that they had been abducted, given the spate of kidnappings across the country in the past months.
Ndukwe said the Enugu police launched an investigation and recovered an abandoned vehicle said to belong to Okereke.
He said the vehicle was found at Four-Corner, on Enugu-Port-Harcourt Expressway, precisely within Ozalla community in Nkanu West LGA.
“The current report at our disposal dwells on a case of abandoned and recovered vehicle, as well as missing person.
“On July 29, at about 7:30 am, we received information that a red-coloured Toyota RAV4 Jeep with registration number AGL 199 CY, was noticed to have been parked in an abandoned way at Four-Corners on Enugu-Port-Harcourt Expressway.
“Hence, the location was visited and the vehicle recovered.
“Coincidentally, at about 11:30a.m., of same date, a report was further received stating that the vehicle belongs to one Cynthia Okereke (f), a Nollywood Actress, who was last seen on July 26”, he stated.
Ndukwe said the report at the command’s disposal revealed that only one person was reported to be missing.
Reacting to the matter, Emeka Rollas, national president of the AGN, had instructed all actors to avoid going to the outskirt of cities to film except full security cover is provided to ensure their safety.
He urged security agencies to speed up investigation that would lead to their safe rescue.
