May 21, (THEWILL) – Paul Pogba expressed his determination on Sunday, to bounce back stronger next season, following a challenging period both on and off the field at Juventus
As THEWILL reported, the French 2018 World Cup winner sustained a thigh injury during his first competitive Serie A start of the campaign, forcing him to exit the match prematurely. This setback only adds to his woes, as he had previously missed a significant portion of games due to a right knee injury suffered during pre-season training upon his return to Juve from Manchester United.
Off the pitch, Pogba has had to confront a distressing multi-million euro blackmail plot involving one of his brothers, Mathias. Taking to Instagram, the midfielder candidly shared his reflections, saying, “The year has been very, very complicated with the problems outside football and on the pitch. Off the pitch, it’s been really hard for me. What went on has been tough mentally.
“I tried to take refuge in what I love, playing football, to escape on the pitch, but that wasn’t possible because physically I’ve had a load of problems.” In the midst of these challenges, the resilient 30-year-old remained resolute, asserting his commitment to persevere. “I just have to be patient. Mentally, I’m a lot better. I’ve got to retain hope,” Pogba affirmed.
He expressed his determination to give his all, both mentally and physically, in order to make a triumphant comeback and contribute to the team’s pursuit of titles, which was the driving force behind his decision to return to Juventus. Undeterred, Pogba concluded, “I’m not going to give up.”
