August 22, (THEWILL) – The Presidential Amnesty Programme has warned the youths of the Niger Delta Region and stakeholders should desist from unwarranted media attacks on political office holders and appointees and give them the opportunity to perform the statutory functions of their appointment mandate.

In their reaction to the statement, the National Chairman of the Third Phase Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP), Elaye Slaboh, said their attention has been drawn to the recent publication by Comrade Charles Omusuku, credited to the Special Adviser on NDDC on Youth Matters, Mr Matthew Dango.

According to him, as stakeholders in the Niger Delta Region, they are not pleased with the said publication and feel it has not gotten to the level of public outburst, saying that it is a situation that can be resolved internally as brothers.

He said, “Mr Matthew Dango is a very humble young man and hardworking to the best of our knowledge”

“It is not every time, we as stakeholders should be pulling down our own people because we are all brothers”

He further disclosed that at this point that the MD of NDDC has given the youths of the region a lot of meaningful ongoing projects and programs, for instance, the lighting of Niger Delta, Project Hope, and educational scholarship scheme, among others.

He, however, advised our brothers to sheath their swords and harmonise our differences to allow our brother to continue his development programmes.

“The public should disregard any publication against Mr Matthew Dango and MD/CEO of NDDC, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, that his SA on Youth Matters is a loving and cheerful young man having a cordial relationship with various youth groups across the Niger Delta Region, who deserve our support and prayers to succeed in his assignment”, the statement said.
