February 08, (THEWILL) – Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has promised to create a brand new dance step should Napoli end their 32-year Serie A drought and win the Italian League title.

Napoli were among the early season favourites in the Italian Serie A, going undefeated throughout the first three months of the season.

However, Inter Milan handed the Back Partenopei their first defeat of the season in November, with Osimhen sustaining a serious injury that required surgery and screws to hold it in place while he recovered.

After two months on the sidelines, the 23-year-old has returned with a bang, scoring in his first start of 2022 in a 2-0 win over Venezia on Sunday.

Napoli have rebounded from a mid-season dip to reclaim second place in the league table, one point behind winners Inter Milan, although the latter have a game in hand.

AC Milan and Juventus are yet in contention for the Scudetto, which is shaping up to be a four-team struggle to the finish.

However, Osimhen believes Luciano Spalletti’s men have a chance of finishing first, and he plans to develop a new dance if the Neapolitans achieve that goal.

Nothing is out of reach for the Nigerian forward, who is well versed in the contemporary dance culture of the Nigerian entertainment scene responsible for innumerable dance steps ranging from Galala, Yahooze, Alanta, Shoki, Shaku shaku, and Zanku.

Osimhen said: “I want to win for Napoli; if it happens, I’ll invent a dance. A Victor-victory dance. I’d like to win together: Napoli, Napoli and me. African players are not just sad stories. From a difficult childhood, I have made many steps forward.”

Following his goal against the Winged Lions, in his first start after the surgery layoff, Osimhen became the first Napoli player to reach double figures in goals this season, even after being a sidelined for several weeks while recovering.
