June 30, (THEWILL) – Asisat Oshoala’s decisive penalty kick in the 76th minute propelled Bay FC to a 1-0 victory against Racing Louisville FC. The match, played under sweltering late-afternoon conditions in Louisville, Kentucky, marked Bay FC’s first back-to-back triumph this season.
The Nigerian striker’s goal, her third of the season, ended a seven-match scoring drought. Oshoala confidently placed the ball in the top right corner, wrong-footing Louisville goalkeeper Katie Lund after Jordan Baggett received a yellow card for a foul in the box.
Bay FC, an expansion team, improved their record to 18 points with the result. Goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland contributed to the victory with a clean sheet, her second in consecutive matches.
