OPINION: GOVERNANCE AND EXECUTIVE RECKLESSNESS IN RIVERS STATE

One of the most dangerous things about being Governor of Rivers State is the enormous amount of money and uncontrolled power at the feet of the Governor.

They become impervious to advice, reason and balanced judgement.

And then cost us hundreds of billions of Naira in the reckless decisions they make and are never made to pay for in damages, which should have been channeled to lifting Rivers families out of poverty.

Thanks to the ever present crowd of court jesters, appointment seekers, blackmail merchants, rent seekers and hangers on, who are always ready to laugh hysterically even when a joke is overly husky and boring.

The sad part is that the power doesn’t build them up after they leave office.
