Onyekuru On Target Again As Al-Fayha Overcome Godwin’s Al-Okhdood

October 21, (THEWILL) – Henry Onyekuru was the star performer as his Al-Fayha side claimed a 2-1 victory away to Saviour Godwin’s Al-Okhdood in the Saudi Pro League on Friday evening. The former Galatasaray attacker has been in excellent form recently, registering four goal contributions in his last four league outings.

The match saw three players with Nigerian heritage feature, with Onyekuru and Godwin starting for their respective clubs and Anthony Nwakaeme leading the line for the visitors. Onyekuru opened the scoring in the 29th minute with a composed finish from a tight angle. However, Godwin equalised for the home team right on the stroke of halftime to make it 1-1 at the break.

After the interval, Onyekuru turned provider as he set up the winner for Fashion Sakala in the 66th minute to secure a 2-1 victory for Al-Fayha. Of the Nigerian trio, only Nwakaeme completed the full 90 minutes.

The win sees Al-Fayha move up to 8th in the table on 14 points, while Al-Okhdood remain in 14th on 7 points after 10 matches.

The match demonstrated Onyekuru’s excellent current form, while Godwin also put in an impressive display despite being on the losing side. Al-Fayha will be hopeful their in-form attacker can continue leading their charge up the league table.
