September 30, (THEWILL) – Paul Onuachu continued his fine vein of form by scoring the opener as Trabzonspor held on to defeat Pendikspor in an entertaining match on Matchday 7 of the Trendyol Super League.
In a highly competitive affair filled with excitement, it was Trabzonspor who came out on top with a 2-1 win. Onuachu struck early in the 3rd minute to give Trabzonspor the lead. Anastasios Bakasetas, who assisted Onuachu, added a second in the 27th minute before Endri Çekiçi pulled one back for Pendikspor in the 36th minute.
Trabzonspor were reduced to 10 men when Batista Mendy received a second yellow card and was sent off in the 72nd minute. Osman Ozkoylu, the Pendikspor manager rang in the changes to bring in fresh legs to exploit of their numerical advantage but the hosts defended their lead to the final whistle to take maximum points.
The result sees Trabzonspor move onto 12 points and up to 3rd place after matchday seven. Winless Pendikspor sit 17th with 4 points. Trabzonspor next travel to Adana Demirspor while Pendikspor host Sivasspor.
