Okusanya Emerges New IPAC Chairman In Ogun

February 05, (THEWILL) – Ogun State Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party(PRP) Samson Okusanya has emerged as the new chairman of the Inter party Advisory Council in the state.

Okusanya, with nine votes defeated his closest rival Abayomi Sanyaolu of the Action Alliance Party, who polled seven votes in the 2022 Ogun IPAC election.

The election was held at the Head Office of the State Independent Electoral Commission(INEC) Abeokuta, where its chairman, Olusegun Agbaje was present to advise members on free, fair and credible elections.

While declaring Okusanya winner of the election, the National Vice Chairman of New Nigeria Peoples Party, Hon. Dipo Olayoku, said he polled nine votes out of the 17 total votes cast.

Other remaining eight positions including the Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer among others were unopposed except the position of the chairman which was voted for.

Speaking after being declared winner, Okusanya who extended the hands of fellowship to his main opponent, Sanyaolu, called for the full support of the members to lead the council forward.

The PRP chairman promised not to fail the council in its main objective of giving reasonable and realistic advice to the party in governance and would always carry members along in its affairs.

He said “I want to thank INEC for providing the necessary for us to have a highly successful contest, definitely we are strengthening our democracy. Permit me to recognise my co-contestant for the chairmanship position Com. Abayomi Sanyaolu i salute him and count on his support for this assignment. The role of IPAC in our democracy is very important by ensuring we render reasonable and realistic advice to the party in governance.

Reacting to the election result, Sanyaolu, who accepted defeat, said that politics was not a do or die affairs, noting that it was a win or lose

“Politics is not a do or die affair. I am all about sportsmanship, politics is all about sport, you win, you lose” he stressed.
