March 02, (THEWILL) – The Director General of a People’s Democratic Party Support Group, by the name Reclaim Cross River, Paul Ishabor, says the Ogoja/Yala Bye-Elections result needs an integrity test.

Ishabor made this known in Calabar while formally reacting to the just concluded bye-elections in Cross River State.

He maintained that the PDP won the election in all honesty, but the results were manipulated to favour the ruling All Progressives Party.

“The PDP in all honesty won the elections. In fact the elections, particularly in Yala, was marred with violence and all forms of malpractices to give the APC an edge.

“It is therefore our strong belief that the results that came out of Yala were manipulated and require an integrity test in the days to come. However, subject to the final decision of our Leaders”, he said.

He commended the doggedness of voters in Ogoja/Yala, who stood their ground in the face of violent intimidation and harassment by security personnel, supported by the notorious and nefarious Police Stint Operation under the directives and supervision of the Governor of Cross River State.

He equally commended the efforts of members of Reclaim Cross River, especially that of our BOT, the Dist. Senators Sandy Onor (Original Caterpillar and his team) and Jarigbe Agom, as well as Mr John George.

He, however, condemned in strong terms the attack on the convoy of Senator Jarigbe Agom, but commended him for the show of maturity in the face of violent provocation.

While thanking party men in Akpabuyo for a successful outing, he maintained that they remain committed to the vision and ideology for a better Cross River State.

He called on all members to remain steadfast and committed to the struggle for a better Cross River State.
