October 15, (THEWILL) – Lobi Stars football club of Makurdi are set to ignite surprises at the Lafia township stadium in Nasarawa state when they strive to change the unbeaten record of the visiting El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri this weekend.
The ‘Alia Boys’ confidence is aimed to build on recent form and assert their dominance at home as they face El-Kanemi Warriors in the October 16th NPFL match.
With both teams eager to climb the NPFL table, the match promises to be intense and exciting, especially under the tutelage of ex-international, Dan Amokachi.
Head of Media, Uja Emmanuel, confirmed that Lobi Stars will focus on key areas to entertain their fans, while Aliyu Zubirou’s El-Kanemi Warriors look forward to extending their unbeaten streak in the current NPFL over the weekend.
According to Uja, fans can anticipate a fierce battle in Lafia as both teams strive for victory, saying Lobi Stars are in top form and can spring a surprise in any clash.
He quotes the Chairman of Lobi Stars Football Club, Dr Philip Nongu, as saying “We have motivated the players and officials to progress better as the NPFL hots up”, Uja said.
Dr Nongu, who is also the Director of Sports at the Benue State Sports Council, commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for the keen interest he has shown to the club through timely approval and release of funds for the running of the club.
It will be recalled that following the sacking of the management of Lobi Stars under Dominic Iorfa over a poor outing in the current NPFL, ex-international, Dan Amokachi, was engaged and has led Lobi who forced Niger Tornadoes FC to a draw in last weekend’s league tie.
