August 30, (THEWILL) – The 2024/2025 Nigeria Professional Football League season is set to kick off with a promising first matchday scheduled between August 31 and September 8.
The opening fixture will feature Rangers International FC taking on El Kanemi Warriors at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu. This match will officially launch what is expected to be another fiercely contested season.
NPFL newbies Beyond Limits FC will face Enyimba International FC at the Remo Stars FC Stadium in Ikenne in the next fixture. Kano Pillars FC will host Ikorodu City FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano. Both matches are anticipated to draw significant attention from fans, given the teams’ histories and strong performances in previous seasons.
Lobi Stars FC will clash with Akwa United FC at the Lafia Township Stadium, while Sunshine Stars FC will play against Bayelsa United at the Akure Township Stadium. These matches promise to offer thrilling football, with teams eager to start the season on a positive note.
Kwara United FC will meet Niger Tornadoes at the Ilorin Township Stadium, and Nasarawa United FC will compete against Shooting Stars SC at the Lafia Township Stadium. The matchday will also feature Bendel Insurance FC going up against Rivers United FC at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
Plateau United FC will host Katsina United FC at the New Jos City Stadium in Jos, and Abia Warriors FC will square off against Remo Stars SC at the Umuahia Township Stadium, rounding off an exciting start to the NPFL season.
