Nigerian Youths Will Benefit From FG Housing Scheme Nationwide – Gwarzo

May 8, (THEWILL)- The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, has assured that Nigerian youths will benefit from the ministry’s housing programme nationwide.

A statement by the Minister’s SSA Media, Adamu Abdullahi, said Gwarzo gave the assurance during a meeting with members of the Renewed Hope Cooperative Society, when its national executive officers paid him a courtesy visit at the ministry.

According to the statement, Gwarzo said the youths are the backbone of any meaningful development globally, adding that Nigerian youths, would not be left out from the housing programme initiated by the government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He stated that the Renewed Hope Estate and Cities programme was aimed at ensuring that every individuals has access to a safe, affordable and dignified home which youth are inclusive.

Earlier, the National Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Cooperative Society, Mr Ademuyiwa Adebola Taofeek, informed the minister that they were at his office to tap from the existing housing programme of the Federal Government.

Taofeek stated that their Cooperative Society, had given positive contribution towards the success of the Tinubu administration, adding that getting affordable houses for young people is the Cooperative society’s priority.

Meanwhile, the Minister has described housing as not just a basic human right but a cornerstone for sustainable development and social cohesion.

His SSA Media, Adamu Abdullah, said in a separate statement that Gwarzo made the remark during the inauguration of a Project, Steering Committee on Renewed Hope Estate and Cities programme in Abuja on Tuesday.

He said that bringing the committee on board marked the commitment of the present administration to address the housing needs of the people.

The minister said the committee was charged with the task of formulating comprehensive strategies that would accomplish the housing agenda and speedy completion of the 3,112 Renewed Hope Estate and Cities programme in Karsana which was inaugurated by President Bola Ahmad Tinubu in February this year.

“Approach your work with diligence, compassion and a steadfast commitment to excellence”, he advised the committee.

Gwarzo also urged members of the committee to be optimistic and thrive towards ensuring that every individual has access to a safe, affordable and a dignified home.

Responding on behalf of the committee members, the chairman, who doubles as the Director Public Buildings and Housing Development of the Ministry, assured the Minister that they would dedicate themselves to the duties assigned to them with a view to achieving the desired goals.
