Nigerian Army Sacks 9 More Insurgents’ Camps

SAN FRANCISCO, November 06, (THEWILL) – Nine more camps of the insurgents in Borno State have been sacked by the military in the past three days.

The Nigerian Army, which disclosed this Friday in a statement signed by the media coordinator of Operation Lafiya Dole, Col. Tukur Gusau, said the troops of 115 Task Force Battalion under 28 Task Force Brigade during clearance operations between Nov. 3-5 sacked nine more terrorists strongholds around Lassa axis.

Gusau listed the terrorist camps to include Lassa, Muthavo, Dagu, Kumabza, Izge, Unworo, Zangore, Kilekasa and Pumpum, saying four Boko Haram terrorists were killed by the troops of the Nigerian Army during the offensive.

Gusau said that some of the terrorists were lucky to have fled abandoned their weapons which included seven dane guns.

According to Gusau, on Thursday, the troops of 25 TF Bde conducted another offensive operations along Korede axis in Damboa local government area of Borno state.

“In the operations three motorcycles suspected to be used during the last Sunday’s attack on Azir village were recovered along with stolen food stuffs from the village,” he said. “Terrorists observation posts were destroyed in a high ground in Korede.

Our Troops continue to dominate roads leading to Azir, Wajikoro, Damboa, and Biu towns to deny Boko Haram terrorists any possible freedom of activities in the area. The fighting spirit of the troops remain very high.”
