BEVERLY HILLS, September 2, (THEWILL) – Nigeria Wednesday reported 216 confirmed new cases of the coronavirus, as Plateau State maintained the number one spot for the eight consecutive day with 59 new cases.

Nigeria now has a total of 54, 463 confirmed cases with 42, 439 recoveries and 4 new deaths to bring the total number to 1, 027.

According to data released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, Rivers State came second with 27 new cases, Abia 22, Lagos, the state with the highest number of recorded cases 20, while Oyo reported 18. See below for a full breakdown.

The NCDC also said it has so far tested 411, 077 samples as at September 1, 2020.
