Nigeria Ranks High In AFCON 2023 Ticket Sales

December 29, (THEWILL) – The Confederation of African Football (CAF), has released figures showing that Nigeria ranks fourth out of all participating countries in terms of ticket purchases for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. As of December 28, CAF reported on its official account that Nigeria has purchased a total of 12,544 tickets.

Côte d’Ivoire leads the way by a significant margin, having sold 32,307 tickets so far. Guinea-Bissau, who Nigeria will face in Group A, sits second with 28,614 purchases. Equatorial Guinea follows closely in third with 16,237 sales. Defending champions Senegal currently ranks fifth, with 10,959 tickets sold.

With the tournament set to kick off on January 13, to February 11, fans still have time to secure tickets and support their teams. CAF encouraged fans to “Hurry up to secure your tickets and get behind your team!” As preparations for the continental showcase intensify.

While Côte d’Ivoire has sold the most tickets by far, Nigeria’s tally of 12,544 purchases is good for fourth overall. This indicates a strong contingent of Nigerian supporters will be on hand to cheer on the Super Eagles. Sales figures also imply an intense atmosphere, with sets of fans expectantly full of voice behind their teams.

As participating countries build towards AFCON 2023, fan support could play a key role in driving teams forward. If ticket sales are any indication, Nigeria should have a noticeable presence in the stands throughout their AFCON campaign.
