NFVCB, Chinese Embassy Partner to Build Roboust Film Industry

July 29, (THEWILL) – The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) and the Chinese Embassy in Abuja have agreed to strengthen their relationship to build a robust film industry. The partnership aims to promote cultural exchanges and cooperation in film classification. The Executive Director of NFVCB, Husseini Shaibu Ph.D, led a team of management staff to the Chinese Embassy, where they met with Li Xudu, Director of the China Cultural Centre in Nigeria. The meeting focused on strengthening the existing relationship between the two countries and exploring areas of collaboration.

Husseini noted, “We are committed to strengthening our relationship with China and exploring opportunities for growth and development in the film industry.”

The Executive Director stated the need for both countries to understudy the classification procedures of the other to their mutual benefits. Xudu, who was elated, welcomed Hussieni and the management team ensuring they work together and achieve together. He promised the Executive Director, China will assist the Board build capacity in the film industry.

His words “We look forward to a new chapter in our collaboration, which will see more Nigerian films exported to China and a deeper understanding of each other’s cultures.”

The visit agreed as follows: Partnership in film classification and cultural exchanges Strengthening of existing relationship between the two countries; increased cultural exchanges and understudy of each other’s classification protocols and collaboration in intellectual property protection.
