April 28, (THEWILL) – Italian football agent, Stefano Antonelli, has hinted that Napoli may be forced to part ways with their star striker, Victor Osimhen, if they receive an astronomical bid from one of the clubs interested in him.
The Nigeria international has been drawing interest from top clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich, ahead of the reopening of the transfer window. Napoli has not set a price tag for the player, but a fee of between €100m and €150m is being touted as his possible asking price.
Antonelli has compared Osimhen’s value to that of Manchester City’s goal machine, Erling Haaland, stating that the Nigerian is just as important a player as the Norwegian. He is confident that one of the interested clubs will meet his asking price, and Napoli would have to listen to it.
Antonelli stated, “If 150 million arrives, you can’t help but listen to it, and if you don’t sell it, it means that then you have to win everything because you can no longer participate, but you have to win everything.”
Despite having two years left on his contract with Napoli, Osimhen has been impressive this season, scoring 21 goals and putting himself in the same bracket as Haaland, Harry Kane, and Kylian Mbappe. Napoli has a history of losing their talismanic strikers such as Higuain and Cavani, but they have always managed to move forward and even win despite their departures.
