July 26, (THEWILL) – Everton have confirmed the loan signing of Jesper Lindstrom from Napoli for the 2024/2025 season. The deal includes an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the campaign.

The 24-year-old becomes the fourth addition to Everton’s squad this summer, joining Tim Iroegbunam, Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Harrison.

The Denmark international arrives at Goodison Park following a challenging season with Napoli, where he made 22 league appearances but played only 416 minutes. Prior to his stint in Italy, Lindstrom played for Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 14 goals in 80 appearances and helping the German club win the UEFA Europa League in the 2021/2022 season.

In his first interview with Everton, Lindstrom expressed his excitement about joining the club, praising its history, stadium, and facilities. He mentioned that England’s similarity to Denmark would help him settle quickly. Lindstrom also revealed that Everton had shown interest in him previously, not just during this transfer window.

Everton manager Sean Dyche highlighted Lindstrom’s versatility, stating that the player can operate in various attacking roles. Dyche emphasised Lindstrom’s hunger and eagerness to succeed, viewing these qualities as strong starting points for adding more productivity to Everton’s attack.

The signing addresses Everton’s need for attacking options, following Arnaut Danjuma’s return to Villarreal after his loan spell and Lewis Dobbin’s sale to Aston Villa. Everton scored only 40 goals last season, the second-lowest tally in the English Premier League. The club will be hoping that Lindstrom can contribute significantly to improving their offensive output in the upcoming season.
