November 06, (THEWILL) – Victor Osimhen is reportedly heading back to Italy to continue his recovery from a thigh injury. Osimhen spent the last two weeks in Nigeria and Germany but is now returning to Napoli to enter the later stages of his rehabilitation protocol.
The 24-year-old forward has been sidelined since early October after picking up a second-grade thigh strain while on international duty. He has been following his recovery programme abroad but is now due back at Napoli’s training facilities. Osimhen’s absence is not thought to have impacted his prospective return timeline.
Club sources suggest Osimhen could be back playing by November 25 against Atalanta or a few days later in the UEFA Champions League clash with Real Madrid. In his absence, Giacomo Raspadori has impressed up front, scoring three goals in a row.

Manager Luciano Spalletti praised Raspadori but said Osimhen’s return was the only real obstacle to the 22-year-old’s place. Spalletti also rejected suggestions of an imminent permanent switch from Napoli’s usual 4-3-3 system.
Osimhen will watch from the stands when Napoli face Union Berlin in the UCL this week. For now, it seems Napoli will stick with their trusted 4-3-3 until the Nigerian makes his long-awaited return from injury.
