June 17, (THEWILL) – Damilola Adeparusi, otherwise known as Chef Dammy, has addressed some of the controversies surrounding her just-concluded cooking marathon.

The Ekiti-born chef commenced a 120 hours cooking adventure on Friday, June 9 and ended on June 13.

However, the exercise was trailed by controversies, as some Nigerians have accused her pastor of taking the proceeds from the cook-a-thon.

Responding to the tale on Twitter, Chef Dammy cleared the air, saying it was her pastor and church members, who financed the cook-a-thon.

She added that she is like the face of the church and that all she did was cook.

“People always criticise the money coming in but they don’t ask about the money that was used to start up the whole program.

“This program was fully funded by my pastor and a few members of the church. I was not involved in anything. The only thing I did in everything was to cook. I was just the face of the church,” she revealed.

Also addressing the rumour that the clergyman took the proceeds from her cook-a-thon, Chef Dammy urged people to stop spreading such lies, saying the money she realised is less than her expenditure and that more than half of the money generated is in her bank account.

“As a matter of fact, all the money that came in for me is not yet up to the money that was used to set up everything. And more than half of the supposed money that came in is still in my personal account. So, ongoing rumours about my pastor should please cease,” she stated.
