October 16, (THEWILL) – In the Nigeria Premier Football League on Wednesday, Kano Pillars emerged victorious against Enugu Rangers with a 4-3 scoreline at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium. Ex-Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, played a crucial role in the win, contributing to all four goals for Kano Pillars.
The first half saw Kano Pillars dominate proceedings, with Musa at the centre of the action. He earned two penalties, both converted by Rabiu Ali in the 15th and 37th minute. Musa also provided an assist for Zulkifilu Rabiu’s goal in the 28th minute before scoring himself just before half-time, giving Kano Pillars a commanding 4-0 lead at the break.
Enugu Rangers mounted a spirited comeback in the second half. Substitute Isaac Saviour scored twice, in the 47th and 59th minute, to reduce the deficit. Emmanuel Silas added a third goal for Rangers in the 90th minute, setting up a tense finish to the match.
Despite the late Rangers’ pressure, Kano Pillars held on to claim all three points. The result sees Kano Pillars move to fourth place in the League table, level on 10 points with fifth-placed Rangers.
Musa’s performance in this match adds to his impressive return to the NPFL. The 32-year-old has now scored two goals and provided multiple assists since rejoining Kano Pillars, demonstrating his value to the team and the league.
