February 10, (THEWILL) – Fulham earned their first English Premier League win of 2024 on Saturday, defeating Bournemouth 3-1 at Craven Cottage. Brazilian striker Rodrigo Muniz scored twice for the home side, while Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Cherries defender Marcos Senesi also found the back of the net.

Manager Marco Silva’s decision to start Muniz paid dividends early on. The striker was instrumental in Fulham’s 5th-minute opener, his cross causing Lewis Cook to slip and allowing De Cordova-Reid to pounce. Muniz then scored himself in the 36th minute, reacting quickest to nod home from close range after Willian’s cross was flicked on by De Cordova-Reid.

Bournemouth pulled one back shortly after halftime through Senesi’s composed half-volley finish. However, Muniz restored Fulham’s two-goal advantage just minutes later, smashing in his second goal from Willian’s pinpoint cross.

Despite bringing on January loan signing Armando Broja late on, the Cherries were unable to mount a comeback as Fulham held on for a vital three points. The win moves Silva’s side up to 12th in the table, above their south coast opponents.
