Moffi Man-Of-The-match In Nice’s 2-2 Draw Against Nantes

March 12, (THEWILL) – In a thrilling Ligue 1 encounter between OGC Nice and FC Nantes, Nigeria’s Terem Moffi shone in a man-of-the-match display with a goal and an assist to help his team secure a 2-2 draw.

Moffi, who has now scored 15 league goals for the season, opened the scoring for the away side in just the fifth minute, heading home from a corner kick delivered into the danger area by English midfielder, Ross Barkley.

Despite FC Nantes finding the equaliser through Moussa Sissoko in the 31st minute, they missed a golden opportunity to take the lead just four minutes later when Ludovic Blas missed a penalty. Nigerian winger, Moses Simon, was subbed off in the 65th minute for Egyptian striker, Mostafa Mohamed.

Moffi turned provider in the 71st minute, setting up Youssouf Ndayishimiye for his first Ligue 1 goal to give Nice the lead once again. However, FC Nantes fought back and snatched a point in the dying minutes of the game thanks to a header from Mohamed, who finished off a cross from Joao Victor in the 88th minute.

Both teams will now look ahead to their next fixtures. Nantes will travel to face Lyon on Friday in Ligue 1, while Nice will host FC Sheriff in the Europa Conference League on Thursday.
