July 18, (THEWILL) – AC Milan have announced that Maximilian Ibrahimovic, son of former Sweden forward, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 17-year-old attacker will play for Milan Futuro, the club’s development side, in Italy’s third-tier Serie C this season.
Maximilian joined Milan’s Under-17 side in 2022, following in the footsteps of his famous father. Zlatan Ibrahimovic ended his playing career at Milan in 2023 and now serves as a senior advisor to the club.
The young Ibrahimovic’s signing comes as part of Milan’s ongoing efforts to nurture talent and build for the future. The club’s development programme, Milan Futuro, aims to provide a pathway for promising young players to progress to the first team.
Milan fans will be eager to see if Maximilian can emulate his father’s success on the pitch. The older Ibrahimovic enjoyed a stellar career, winning numerous trophies across Europe’s top leagues and establishing himself as one of the most prolific strikers of his generation.
This news marks another chapter in the Ibrahimovic family’s association with AC Milan. With Zlatan in an advisory role and Maximilian now part of the club’s professional setup, the Ibrahimovic name looks set to remain a fixture at the San Siro for years to come.
