November 11, (THEWILL) – Manchester United managed to secure a much-needed 1-0 victory over Luton Town on Saturday, easing some of the pressure on under-fire manager, Erik ten Hag.
However, United’s disjointed and lacklustre display was far from a convincing performance, with the Red Devils struggling to break down the visitors for large periods at Old Trafford.
The game’s only goal came in the 59th minute through defender Victor Lindelof, who hammered home after neat build-up play involving Marcus Rashford and Mason Mount. Rashford himself missed a gilt-edged chance to double United’s lead late on, firing straight at Luton goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski when clean through.

Luton deserve credit for frustrating the home side for long stretches and creating a couple of excellent chances themselves through Carlton Morris and Andros Townsend. The clinical edge to finish off these chances was the only missing ingredient.
In the end, United did just enough to claim the three points heading into the international break. Yet, manager Ten Hag still has plenty of work to do to turn around his side’s stuttering season after this unconvincing win over promoted opposition.
