September 28, (THEWILL) – Manchester United have been drawn against Newcastle United in the fourth round of the EFL Cup, setting up a repeat of last season’s final.
Newcastle booked their place in the next round after defeating Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Wednesday night. United advanced by defeating Crystal Palace 3-0 on Tuesday. The draw has thrown up several intriguing ties, including an all-London derby between West Ham United and Arsenal at the London Stadium.
Liverpool will travel south to face AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium after both clubs won their third round ties on Wednesday. Chelsea will host Blackburn Rovers at Stamford Bridge as they look to continue an encouraging Cup run.
Meanwhile, Everton Manager, Sean Dyche, will welcome his former club Burnley to Goodison Park, after the Toffees secured just their second victory of the new season against Aston Villa. Elsewhere, Mansfield Town will host Port Vale, currently fourth in League One. Exeter City, who upset Luton Town on Tuesday, will travel north to face Championship outfit Middlesbrough.
The ties will be played in the week commencing November 9th.
