August 28, (THEWILL) – At the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, Manchester City defeated Crystal Palace 4-2 after coming back from two goals down thanks to a hat-trick from Erling Haaland.
For the fourth time in six Premier League games, Pep Guardiola’s team found themselves two goals down, but they came back to overcome Palace.
Palace quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead, thanks to a John Stones’ own goal and Joachim Andersen’s thunderous header with Eberechi Eze playing a part in both goals, leaving a hapless City team stunned at the half.
However, the brilliant Bernardo Silva started the comeback by cutting the deficit in half soon after the half before Haaland grabbed control and finished the comeback with two poacher’s finishes and a third decisive goal for the champions.
Haaland scores his first hattrick in the EPL as City temporarily climb to the top of the standings. Next up for them is a match against Nottingham Forest, while Crystal Palace hosts Brentford.
