BEVERLY HILLS, July 15, (THEWILL) – Twelve directors of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) including the Executive Secretary of the agency, Olukayode Olanipekun, have been suspended by the Justice Ayo Salami-led presidential panel investigating corruption allegations against the suspended acting chairman of the commission, Ibrahim Magu.
Abubakar Malami, Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), made this known in a letter to Mohammed Umar, acting EFCC chairman, notifying him of the suspension of the Directors.
THEWILL recalls that the suspended acting EFCC chairman was arrested and marshalled before a presidential panel led by Salami, retired president of the court of appeal, probing the operations of the agency under him.

He was later suspended and replaced by Umar.
He has remained in detention.
