October 07, (THEWILL) – The newly appointed Technical Adviser of Lobi Stars football club of Makurdi, Daniel Amokachi, has assumed duty with a promise to uplift the fortunes of the club and the welfare of players for optimal performance.
Addressing players at the Mccarthy Stadium Training pitch in Makurdi on Monday, the ex-international charged them to show more commitment to justify their stay in the club, assuring of better welfare.
The former Super Eagles Coach expressed confidence in the management of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), under which clubs can now win away matches.
Amokachi therefore, pledged to work with the management of the club, assuring to ensure that the confidence reposed in him is not betrayed.
It will be recalled that, in a major shakeup, the Board of Lobi Stars FC relieved Coach Eugene Agagbe of his position as Chief Coach with immediate effect.
This decision followed the Board’s review of Agagbe’s failure to meet a five-match win target, managing only one victory while losing three others in the current league season.
In a statement, Head of Media, Lobi Stars Football, Uja Emmanuel, said all backroom staff have been relieved of their duties and instructed to reapply if they wish to continue with the club.
“They have been asked to hand over all club property in their possession to the club’s secretary immediately”. The statement added.
